ECO 4934/GEB 6365: Study Tour to Bahamas
Credits: 3
Location: six meetings in Davie (Jan 24, Feb 7, Feb 21, Mar 21,
Apr 4, Apr 25) and 5 days in the Bahamas (Feb 28-Mar 4)
Tour Cost: $1,288 (plus normal tuition costs). This cost includes
round-trip airfare from Fort Lauderdale to Nassau, ground
transportation, 4 nights (shared double occupancy) at a
deluxe hotel, all breakfasts, several group lunches/dinners,
all group tours, your ISIC insurance card, and more!
ECO 4955/GEB 6365: Study Tour to Costa Rica
Credits: 3
Location: two meetings in Davie (April 4 and 25) and 8 days in
Costa Rica (May 1 - 9, 2009, the week between Spring
and Summer semesters)
Tour Cost: $1,792 (plus normal tuition costs). This cost includes
round-trip airfare from Fort Lauderdale to San Jose, Costa
Rica, ground transportation, 6 nights (shared double
occupancy) at the 4-star Crowne Plaza San Jose, and 2
nights at the Volcan lodge near the national park, all
breakfasts, several group lunches and dinners, all
group tours, your ISIC insurance card, and more!

Exam 2 grades have been posted on Blackboard.
The next class will take place on November 18.
The next quiz will take place on Tuesday, Dec 2, in the 2nd
half of class. This quiz will have 20 questions, and will cover
Lecture 10 and the last 2 pages of Lecture 9 in the book.
The Principles Lab offers free tutoring by the TAs. Their office
hours are as follows:
Mon: 2 - 5pm (KH 135)
Tue: 10 - noon (KH 141) and 2 - 5pm (KH 135)

Credit Card Authorization Form
To attend the Bahamas Study Tour, you must be at least a
sophomore (30 credits) by the end of Fall 2008. To sign up,
complete the application form and submit with a $200
deposit payable to "Florida Atlantic University" to either course
director or to the Economics Main Office at KH 137. The
balance of $1,088 will be due by January 16, 2009.
A study tour is an exciting way to travel while earning 3
upper-division credits. We will visit local companies &
government organizations, along with some cultural
attractions.

These study tours are an exciting and educational way to visit
Costa Rica while earning 3 upper-division credits. We will
visit several multi-national and local companies, along with a
coffee plantation and eco-tourism sites. This year's trip
includes a weekend excursion to Volcano Arenal, a beautiful
national park with hot spring resorts.
