Professional Career:

Professor Chiang is an Associate Professor of Economics at Florida Atlantic University, and a Senior
Researcher at the Public Utility Research Center (University of Florida).  He teaches Undergraduate,
Masters, and MBA courses in International Trade, Microeconomic Theory, and the Economics of
Emerging Markets, and received the 2006-2007 Award for Excellence and Innovation in Undergraduate
Teaching.  His research has been published in leading journals such as the Review of Economics and
Statistics, the Southern Economic Journal, and the Journal of Technology Transfer.  Prior to FAU, he
developed two Masters-level online courses in telecommunications (Economics and Pricing in
Telecommunications Networks, and Network Interconnection in Telecommunications) used at the Public
Utility Research Center and taken by over 100 students from 21 countries.  He continues to teach the
"Basic Economics Training Session" for the PURC/World Bank International Training Program on Utility
Regulation and Strategy.  In his spare time, Eric enjoys adventure travel, hiking, jogging, and studying
languages and cultures.
